Electric Lady Bird
ELB delivers commercial-free, curated music from Central Texas artists. Featuring multiple genres and homegrown musicians, Electric Lady Bird seeks out the Live Music Capital's best and serves it up 24/7 through a user-friendly digital music platform. Start streaming with us in early 2019 at library.austintexas.gov/elb
A panel of jurors from the Austin music community will select the 50 best albums/EP's based on quality, diversity, regional promotional activity, and general connection to the Austin music scene. Selected musicians will be awarded $200.00 and the library will receive the right to stream the music for a 3-year term.
If you're selected, you will be contracted in December with instructions on how to join Electric Lady Bird and must agree to:
- Upload the remainder of the album/EP
- Sign a library licensing agreement, and
- Submit an invoice for payment
Its a win for the musicians, the library, and the music-loving public!
ELB takes flight twice annually. We plan on growing our collection by 100 new local albums a year. Stay tuned for news about shows and programs featuring selected musicians and future music submission dates.
