Mastering

To start my weekly installments for the 'Glossary of Terms' section, I thought I would start with the most obvious term, Mastering.  Mastering, in a nutshell, is the last creative step in the recording process and the first technical step in the replication (or duplication) process.  Typically, mastering involves equalization, compression, other audio processing and the creation of some format of master.
